COVID-19 and STEM education do not go hand in hand. STEM education has always had many hands-on activities like labs, but due to COVID-19, school is online and it has been difficult to transition these activities to an online setting without lowering the quality of the class. One of the most common and best ways to move a hands-on activity online is with a video. With videos, students get to see exactly what they would see in class, making the experience pretty similar to an actual hands-on activity. Obviously, the actual experience of using your own hands during a project cannot be replicated, but nothing can be done about this. A benefit to videos is that they are recorded and students are able to replay and carefully analyze them, something that is not possible in class.
